Quick Tour
Who hosts the software and where does the data reside?
The software is hosted by dataMetrics Software and the data resides on secure dataMetrics servers. Apart from the TestWiz software license itself, there are no additional hosting fees.
How does the data get loaded?
The ISAT data is sent to you on CD. You forward the data file on the CD to our server (via an encrypted link). We upload your data to the server and it becomes available to you and to others in your school system who have received permission to view the data.
Can I use TestWiz for the ISAT?
Yes. TestWiz is customized for the ISAT with item details, Illinois objectives, etc. TestWiz lets you quickly and easily generate reports that go beyond the static reports from the State.
What about other, non-ISAT tests?
TestWiz supports virtually any assessment. There are standard routines for the MAP (the NWEA online assessments) and DIBELS (the U. of Oregon early reading tests). Other assessments that are in electronic form can also be uploaded. If you have tests that have been scored by hand and are not in any electronic form, you may create a Test Specification in TestWiz and key-enter the results into TestWiz. For locally developed assessments, you can even use TestWiz for scanning tests. Please call for details.
What kinds of reports will we be able to view?
TestWiz allows you to view reports for individual students, classes, schools, and districts. You have control over who and what is shown on a report. Please refer the Reports Samples pdf document for examples.
How can I get reports for a classroom teacher if there are no teacher names on the ISAT files?
If you can create a file with student names, ID numbers, and teacher names, TestWiz support representatives can upload that file and associate teacher names with the student records. Once the association is made, class list and summary reports can easily be generated. Please call us for more information on upload services at 877-456-8949.
Can we generate reports for subgroups of students such as Special Ed or LEP?
Yes. Demographic information already exists on the ISAT files and TestWiz allows you to filter and display the demographics on reports.
Can we control who has access to confidential student information?
Yes. You can control who has student level vs. summary level access by school or by teacher.
Are we able to track student progress over time?
Yes. You can track groups of students’ performance over time as well as grade level performance. You can also track sub-group performance (Special Ed students, for example) over time.
What are the hardware and software requirements?
You need a computer with good Internet access. We test our application using Internet Explorer on PCs, and Firefox and Safari on Macs.
What about training?
A brief initial, online session will be provided at no additional cost. If more training is desired, it can be provided on a fee basis.
What kind of support will we get?
There are online Help screens and Reference Guides. A toll-free helpline is available from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays. E-mail questions are answered within 24 hours.
Can I preview the software before making a commitment?
Yes. We are offering free Webex Demonstration sessions. Give us a call at 877-456-8949. Or take a look at our Quick Tour document for an overview and screen shots.
